Solarcomparis is a Swiss solar comparison platform. It helps homeowners find companies that install solar panels in their area.
The client had the data: lists of installers working across Switzerland. What was missing was a fast, visual way to reach it. Switzerland is organised by canton, and people think of where they live before they think of a company name, so a long list of installers was the wrong way in.
We designed and built the website, then made the map its centre.
- 01
A map drawn by hand, not borrowed.
We traced the map of Switzerland in Illustrator, split it into its cantons and named each one, then brought it into the site as a lightweight vector graphic. There is no third-party map service: it loads instantly and stays sharp on every screen.
- 02
Every canton clickable.
Each region reacts when the visitor hovers over it, and one click opens the page for that area. Smaller neighbouring cantons are grouped (Zug, Schwyz and Glarus; Obwalden, Nidwalden and Uri), so every region stays easy to tap, even on a phone.
- 03
Data connected to the map.
We linked the installer data supplied by the client to each region, so every page shows the 5–6 companies that actually work there. The platform's own installation company operates nationwide, so it appears on every page next to the local installers.
- 20regions covering every canton
- 1clickable map of the whole country
- 5–6installers listed for each region
- 0third-party map services
A list became a journey: visitors start with the place they know and land on the companies they need.
